# Set up a Cardel site

Connect once, at exactly https://www.cardel.io/mcp. On cardel.io that address is https://www.cardel.io/mcp. The shorter cardel.io address jumps to www and drops the sign-in. Add a site only when the person names one or asks to create one.

Perform the steps yourself when you can. Pause for sign-in, approval, or a screen you cannot operate. Do not invent a next step.

## Connect

Before changing a configuration file, read it and add the cardel entry. Leave every other server as it is.

### Claude

Open Customize, then Connectors.
Choose Add, then Custom, then Web. On Pro or Max, choose Add custom connector.
Name it Cardel and paste https://www.cardel.io/mcp.
Choose Sign in now, then Register automatically, and finish Add.
A Team or Enterprise owner adds the connector first. Members then choose Connect.
In Claude Code, run: claude mcp add --transport http cardel --scope user followed by https://www.cardel.io/mcp.

### ChatGPT

Delete any app saved on https://cardel.io/mcp. That address jumps to www and drops the sign-in.
Open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
Create the app from Apps, name it Cardel, and paste https://www.cardel.io/mcp.
Sign in with Cardel when asked.
On Business, Enterprise, or Edu, an admin turns on Developer mode, then creates the app from Apps.
In Codex, run: codex mcp add cardel --url followed by https://www.cardel.io/mcp. If it already exists, run codex mcp login cardel.

### Grok

Open grok.com/connectors.
Choose New Connector, then Custom.
Paste https://www.cardel.io/mcp and sign in with Cardel.
On Business or Enterprise, a team admin adds the address in the console first.
In the Grok CLI, add the same address as a remote connector.

### Gemini

On a computer, open gemini.google.com and choose Settings, then Connected Apps.
Under Custom apps, add https://www.cardel.io/mcp and continue.
Sign in with Cardel. Use a personal Google account. Work and school accounts cannot add a custom app yet.
In the Gemini CLI, merge a cardel server into ~/.gemini/settings.json that runs npx with args mcp-remote and https://www.cardel.io/mcp.

After sign-in, call only get_builder_status. Report the connected sites and the next question, then wait. Do not save a step until the person answers. When more than one site is connected, name the site by the address from that status. Do not send a workspace id.

Photos and links you do not have, ask for them. Books are a Showcase. Selling is a Shop. Signings are Scheduling or a schedule link. Ask before a blog, a community, or a newsletter. Stripe, a calendar connection, a custom domain's DNS check, and a look through Admin stay in the browser. Do not mark those finished just because a tool ran. Card numbers stay on Stripe. Publishing stays on Cardel.
