Audience

Keep everyone who's asked to hear from you in one list, organized your way and kept clean for you.

Your list, in one place

Your email list is really a list of people who asked to hear from you, and it deserves better than a spreadsheet you re-upload every time you send something. Audience keeps everyone together: who's subscribed, who still needs to confirm, and who's left.

A list inboxes trust

When someone signs up on your site, they get an email asking them to confirm first. That's called double opt-in, and it keeps your list full of real people who actually want your emails. When you add or import people yourself, Cardel asks you to confirm they agreed to hear from you, so no bought or scraped lists.

If an email to someone bounces for good, or they mark it as spam, Cardel takes them off your list automatically, without emailing them about it, and their history shows exactly why. That only happens on your site's list, so a problem somewhere else on Cardel never touches yours. Keeping dead and unhappy addresses out is one of the best things you can do to keep your emails landing in the inbox.

Bring your list with you

Coming from Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Kit, or something similar? Import a CSV and Cardel reads their usual columns, including status, groups, and tags. Any other column, like first name or company, you can turn into a field or skip. Duplicates are skipped. If the file includes people you deleted before, Cardel asks before adding them back, and flags anyone who was removed after a bounce or spam complaint. Importing never sends anyone an email.

You can export whenever you like, too, narrowed by status, search, groups, or tags. It's your list, and it goes wherever you go.

Organized your way

Groups decide who gets which email, and you can let readers pick groups for themselves in their Settings, like book news or workshops. Tags are just for you, and on Pro and Studio, a campaign can check for a tag before it keeps going. Fields hold details like first name or company, so an email can greet each person by name. If someone's name is missing, the greeting still reads naturally. Filter, search, and update a whole page of people at once.

How it works

  1. Open Audience in Admin.

  2. Add people one at a time, or import a CSV and confirm they agreed to hear from you.

  3. Create the groups, tags, and fields you'll actually use.

  4. Use them when you send a newsletter, set up a workflow, or personalize an email.

A few things worth knowing

Starter keeps up to 2,000 contacts, Pro keeps 5,000, and Studio keeps 10,000 to 50,000. If you go over, marketing emails pause until you're back under or you upgrade, but one-on-one emails like order updates still go out, and the Workspace Owner gets a heads-up. An import that would take you over the limit doesn't run at all, so there are no surprises. The Workspace Owner manages the list, and so can any Admin you give access to.
