Emails that sound and look like you

Every email your site sends should feel like it came from you. Email templates is where you set those up, so a welcome note or a new-post announcement is ready to go before anyone signs up. One-off newsletters have their own page, and the automations that send these templates live in Workflows.

Built to reach the inbox

Your email goes out from an address on your own domain, and Cardel walks you through the records that prove it's really you. The From addresses panel shows when your domain is verified for sending. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link, and Cardel won't let you save a workflow email without one. Each also carries the one-click unsubscribe that Gmail and Yahoo ask bulk senders for, so leaving is easy and people don't reach for the spam button instead.

Design it your way

Open any template to see how it'll look, check the plain text version, or dig into the HTML if you want to. Templates follow your theme automatically, so they match your site, and if you change your theme, you can update every template in one step. Not sure where to start? Describe what you want to the AI Email Builder, or tell it what to change, and it'll update the template for you. Each change builds on the last, so you can step back one at a time. Save when you're happy with it.

Personal, not generic

Labels drop in things like your site name or the reader's first name, plus any field you've added in Audience, like company. If someone doesn't have a value, the label disappears cleanly instead of leaving a gap. On the right kind of template, you can also include details about a new post, a video, a Shop item, or an order.

What a template can do

Some templates go out to a group when you publish something new. Some are steps in a series that one person moves through, like a welcome sequence. And some go to a buyer when their order changes. Account emails like sign-in links are handled by Cardel, so you won't see those here.

How it works

1. Open Email templates and pick one, or start a new one.

2. Edit it directly, or tell the AI Email Builder what you want.

3. Add labels to personalize it, and check the plain text.

4. Save, then connect it to a workflow, a campaign, or an order status.

A few things worth knowing

New sites come with a starter set of templates, and later updates from Cardel won't overwrite anything you've written. Every site has a no-reply address, and you can add others, like hello@, for replies. On a Cardel address, sign-up confirmations and order emails still go out, but newsletters and workflows wait until your own domain is connected. Order emails need Orders, which comes with Pro and Studio. The Workspace Owner can edit templates, and so can any Admin you give access to.
