Messaging Center

Contact forms, emails, and site chats all land in one inbox, and you reply right from there.

Every message in one place

People reach out in different ways. Someone fills out your contact form, someone emails you, someone opens the chat on your site. Messaging Center puts all of it in one inbox, so you're not bouncing between three different tools to keep up.

Email from your own address

When you reply, it goes out from an address on your own domain, like hello@yourdomain.com, not a shared address. Cardel walks you through the email records for your domain and checks each one for you. Those records are what tell Gmail, Outlook, and other inboxes that the email really came from you, and they're a big part of whether your replies land in the inbox or in spam.

Safe to open

Incoming email opens in a protected preview. You see the pictures and the layout, but nothing in the message can run code in your Admin. Your contact form, chat, and sending are all protected from anyone trying too many times too fast, so spam doesn't take over your inbox. And only the Owner and the Admins you've allowed can read or send.

Reply the way you'd expect

Email conversations stay together in one thread. Reply, Reply all, and Forward work like your regular email, with bold, lists, and links in the message box, and up to five attachments. When you answer a contact form, your reply goes out as an email with their original message included, so they know what you're responding to.

Chat replies show up right in the chat on your site, and you can set yourself to Online or Offline so people know whether you're around. If you're stuck on what to say, Suggest reply can draft something for you. Nothing goes out until you hit Send.

Stay organized

Star the conversations you want to come back to, file them in folders you create, and archive whatever's done. Filter by status or type, search, and mark a whole page read or unread at once. When you archive a conversation, the next one moves up, so you can work straight through.

How it works

  1. Someone writes through your contact form, emails your address, or opens the chat.

  2. The conversation shows up in Messaging Center.

  3. You reply, forward it, file it, or write something new.

  4. They get your answer the same way they reached you.

A few things worth knowing

Sending email opens up once your site is published on a paid plan with your own domain connected. On a Cardel address, people can still reach you. Their messages arrive in your inbox, you can answer chats, and you're still told when someone uses your contact form. Email replies start once your domain is connected. The Workspace Owner can use the inbox, and so can any Admin you give access to.
