Set your site up on live pages, then change it from the same panel whenever you need to.
A new site should not begin as a pile of settings. Guided Mode sits beside the live pages and asks one thing at a time: the name, the look, which pages belong, and what they say. You can leave and come back. The step you were on is still there.
When guided setup is finished, Editor Mode is that same panel without the steps. Open Home, About, Contact, Blog, Videos, or a Shop or Showcase page, change what you see, and save.
What this is for
You are starting a site and want it to look like yours before you publish. Or the site is already live and a headline, a hero photo, or a footer link needs to change without a separate design tool.
What you can do
Guided Mode covers the site name and address, a theme, a logo and tagline, and the built-in pages you want (About, Contact, Newsletter, Blog, and Videos). You can add a Shop or Showcase page, fill Home (header, hero, and sections such as Progress), set the footer, bring in an audience, turn on the emails you want, look through Admin, choose a plan, and read Terms and Privacy. The last steps publish the site and confirm the address.
Editor Mode edits the copy, buttons, heroes, header, footer, videos, and the items on a Shop or Showcase page. What you type shows on the page. Save is what visitors see. Leave without saving and the page returns to the last saved version.
How it works
Create the site. Guided Mode opens on the live pages.
Choose a theme, add a logo if you have one, and decide which pages belong.
Fill those pages, including Home. Skip anything you will do later.
Choose a plan, review Terms and Privacy, publish, and confirm the address. After that, use Editor Mode for ordinary changes.
Good to know
Guided Mode is for the Workspace Owner. Editor Mode can be given to an Admin. The two cannot be on at the same time, and they write the same site, so a change in one shows in the other. A new site stays hidden until you publish. Publishing, and using your own domain, need a paid plan. You can keep editing while the site is hidden, then publish when it is ready.
