Let the right email go out on its own
A lot of the best emails go out because something just happened: you published a post, or someone just subscribed. Workflows take care of those emails for you. You pick what should trigger the email, which email template to send, and who should get it. Nothing runs until you switch it on.
There are two kinds. A Bulk Email goes to a whole group, and it's on every plan. Pick what event should trigger it, like a new blog post, a new video, or a new Shop or Showcase item, then choose a template and at least one subscriber group. The first time you publish each item and check the box, Cardel emails everyone subscribed in those groups.
A Campaign Worfklow is for one person at a time, and it comes with Pro and Studio. It starts on certain triggers, such as a new user subscribing to your newsletter. You build it in steps: send an email, wait a few days, check whether they're in a group or have a tag, and keep going. It's a great fit for a welcome series.
New workflows start as drafts, so you can set everything up without worrying about it sending early. When you're ready, switch it to Active. You can switch it back anytime, and the history lets you check status, cancel, or retry.
Blog:
How it works
Write the template first, and mark it as a bulk or campaign email.
Create a workflow of the same type.
Choose the trigger, the template, and either the groups or the steps.
Switch it to Active once you are ready and your site is published.
A few things worth knowing
Workflows don't run while your site is hidden, and anything that happens in the meantime won't pile up and send later. If you turned on bulk emails in Guided Mode, you already have one ready: new blog post emails your newsletter group. For a one-time email send to your subscribers, use the Newsletter builder and sender.
Emails to buyers when their order changes are transactional, and not considered marketing emails.
